Deaf Baby: Introduction

If you are visiting this part of the website it may be because your baby has been referred for a second hearing screen or for follow up hearing testing at your local Audiology Department. If your baby has had a “no clear response” from the screen this doesn’t mean there is a hearing loss but it does mean that your baby’s hearing needs looking at more carefully. (http://hearing.screening.nhs.uk/publicfaqs)

Perhaps you have just learnt that your baby does have a hearing loss and you are looking for information. In these pages you will find out about the baby programme we offer at Auditory Verbal UK. You can also read about the development of listening and speaking in babies and watch videos of Henry from the time he was a baby until he was five and had 'graduated' from Auditory Verbal UK. Parents talk about their experience of bringing their babies here in parent to parent.

We hope you find these pages useful. If you would like to talk please call us at AVUK and we can organize a chat with one of the team or with a parent.
