About AVUK: Our Founding Principles

AVUK is an independent national charity (Registered Charity: 1095133) formed to make Auditory Verbal Therapy accessible to all young children with hearing-impairment in the UK.

Our founding principles:

We seek a world where children born hearing-impaired, or become pre-lingually deaf, participate fully in society alongside their hearing peers.
We believe that this is best achieved by the development of listening and speech as their primary means of communication.
We believe that Auditory Verbal Therapy can offer babies and children the most effective way of being able to listen and speak.
Our goal is for every family to be able to choose and access Certified Auditory Verbal Therapy® where it is appropriate for their hearing-impaired child or children.
